A MASS SPORTING EVENT - Football Pitch

SITE SPECIFIC INSTALLATION

Interactive sound Installation with artificial grass, bricks, light , gate and… I recorded the sound of men playing footbal in a park in downtown Tehran.

This project uses sport as a metaphor for resistance, endurance, hope, and vitality. Like cities, large-scale sports venues are public spaces in constant rewriting, shaped by collective action, power relations, and the accumulation of everyday participation. They are not neutral containers but living, contested spaces, sites where identities, conflicts, and possibilities are continuously negotiated through human agency and the subtle gestures of those who occupy them.

Inside the stadium, physical ability, gender, race, and age can momentarily transcend social boundaries, producing a shared, embodied experience built on movement, cooperation, and collective energy, a temporary commons of the body. Yet these spaces also raise urgent questions of access and exclusion: Who is allowed to enter? Who is represented? How democratic, in practice, are these environments?
